The Start of Something New..." I Take Thee"

Since I am new to blogging, I decided to make my first post with my newest picture I started. I am calling it, " I Take Thee". I am working with a refence photo from my friend Jenny's wedding album and drawing a georgous picture of her and her husbands hands, gently laying over her wedding bouquet. When I first saw this picture I was instantly in love with it and knew I wanted to create it and bring it to life in a drawing-painting, whichever one prefers to call a colored pencil picture. I have decided to do this posting as a work in progress showing my steps in this particular work.

Here we have my first scan, I enhanced the scan with my kodak easyshare program to darken the picture for better viewing. It is still not the best with the enhancements, but until the picture is finished, it does give a basic idea of where I am going with it.

Here we have my second scan, it was also enhanced with the kodak program, though it does have a lighter tint than the first one. ( One of the many reasons why I hate scanners and computer enhancement programs, you can never get the darned thing right..)

Here we have the third scan. I pretty much figured that the hands were going to be the hardest part of this picture so I wanted to start with them and get them out of the way. So basically, two more fingers and then it should be a piece of cake. I love doing flowers and they come naturally to me. As for the picture itself, since I already started it, its my practice piece. Since, it is my friend Jenny's picture I am going to give this one to her and then redo the picture much larger. This one is being done in a 9 by 12 Stonehenge Drawing Pad. I tend to stick with either 9 by 12 paper, or venture a little bigger with a 11 by 14 paper. So, I am going to go brave and try a sheet of Stonehenge 23 by 31 or something along those lines, but downsize it a bit to 16 by 20 or 20 by 24.
